Meet the artists behind “Curious Regard,” the moo-velous butter cow sculpture currently on display in a custom refrigerated case at SAAM’s Renwick Gallery.
“State Fairs: Growing American Craft” features extraordinary and unconventional American crafts, highlighting personal stories and regional and cultural traditions. Every year, visitors at the Iowa State Fair line up to see the life-size butter cow in the Agriculture Building, sculpted by Sarah Pratt and her twin daughters, Hannah and Grace. They traveled to Washington, DC, to create this udderly charming bovine beauty at the Renwick Gallery.
“State Fairs: Growing American Craft” is on view at the Renwick Gallery through September 7, 2026.
